Every aircraft transformation reaches a point where the vision stops living on paper and starts becoming something tangible. Phase 3 is that moment.
After countless hours spent refining surfaces, perfecting details, and preparing every component for its next stage, the interior of the SOLJETS Edition Citation Mustang is now well into its transformation. While the aircraft may currently look stripped down and unfinished, what’s happening behind the scenes represents one of the most important milestones in the entire project.
This is the phase where craftsmanship takes center stage.
Much of the aircraft’s interior has been carefully removed and is currently being refinished. Side panels, trim pieces, seating components, storage areas, and cabin details are all receiving the same level of attention and precision that has defined this project from day one.
To an outside observer, seeing the cabin completely disassembled can be surprising. Interior panels are removed, structural elements are exposed, and the aircraft temporarily resembles a machine mid-construction rather than a luxury business jet.
But that’s exactly the point.
Before an aircraft can become exceptional, every layer beneath the surface must be addressed.
A true refurbishment goes far beyond replacing materials or updating colors.
Every panel, surface, and component must fit perfectly. Textures need to complement one another. Materials must meet aviation standards while still delivering a refined, modern appearance. The goal is not simply to make the cabin look new; it’s to create an environment that feels intentional from every angle.
Throughout Phase 3, technicians have focused on refinishing and updating key cabin components that will ultimately define the passenger experience. The newly refinished side panels introduce a modern aesthetic with sophisticated textures and clean design language. Custom trim pieces and accent materials help create visual depth while maintaining the clean, elevated aesthetic that has become synonymous with the SOLJETS Edition concept.
Even small details matter.
Cup holders, storage compartments, seating surfaces, and transition points throughout the cabin are all being refined to create a cohesive interior experience. Individually, these details may seem minor. Together, they define how the aircraft feels the moment a passenger steps aboard.
One of the most exciting aspects of this phase is that the interior components are nearing completion.
Over the next two weeks, the refinished interior will begin making its way back into the aircraft. What is currently a collection of carefully crafted individual pieces will soon become a fully integrated cabin environment.
This stage requires remarkable coordination.
Every component must return to the aircraft in a precise sequence. Panels must align perfectly. Hardware must be installed correctly. Materials must remain protected throughout the process. There is very little room for compromise when working within the tight tolerances of an aircraft cabin.
The difference between a good refurbishment and an exceptional one often comes down to installation quality.
That is why this phase demands patience, precision, and experience.
As components are reinstalled, the transformation becomes increasingly visible. What once looked like an empty shell gradually evolves into a refined interior designed to elevate both comfort and aesthetics.
While the cabin work continues, the project team is already preparing for what comes next.
Once the interior installation is completed, the aircraft will depart for Textron for the next stage of the transformation: avionics upgrades.
Modern avionics represent one of the most valuable enhancements an aircraft owner can make. Beyond improving functionality, updated systems contribute to operational efficiency, pilot awareness, long-term value retention, and overall aircraft appeal in today’s market.
The avionics portion of the project is a critical step in ensuring the SOLJETS Edition Mustang delivers more than just visual impact. It ensures the aircraft performs at the same elevated level that its appearance promises. Combined with the redesigned interior, these upgrades position the aircraft to stand apart in today’s Citation Mustang market.
This combination of interior refinement and technological modernization is what separates a simple refurbishment from a complete aircraft transformation.
Perhaps the most rewarding part of Phase 3 is seeing how every previous decision begins to connect.
The materials chosen months ago are now taking shape. Design concepts are becoming physical components. Individual pieces are evolving into a complete cabin experience.
The aircraft is no longer defined by what it will become. It is beginning to show what it already is becoming.
Soon, the newly refinished interior will be reassembled, the avionics upgrades will begin, and the aircraft will move one step closer to its final unveiling.
Following its time at Textron, the Citation Mustang will return to Salt Lake City, where the completed SOLJETS Edition transformation will enter the final stages before being brought to market.
Phase 3 is about momentum.
The foundation has been built. The vision has been refined. Now the pieces are coming together.
And for the first time, the finish line is clearly in sight.
Phase 3 is not the end of the journey, but it is the stage where the aircraft truly begins to feel alive. Stay tuned as the SOLJETS Edition Citation Mustang moves closer to its final reveal.
