Turboprop aircraft rely on a gas turbine (jet engine) to drive a propeller. Turboprops are known to be reliable, comfortable and versatile for single pilot use or crew operation with different aircraft specifications. Turboprops are optimal at travelling shorter distances (typically between 500 and 2,000 miles), and at low altitudes (between 20,000 to 30,000 feet), they offer greater fuel efficiency than jets. A huge advantage of turboprop engines is the ability to operate into shorter runways where jets cannot land, offering owners access to far more airports. Turboprops typically carry between 6 to 8 passengers and some configurations make this type of aircraft an attractive option for businesses looking to hold en-route meetings.
