The Light Jet was introduced in 1964 with the FAA certification of the Learjet23. A light jet comfortably carry 4 - 9 passengers, depending on the aircraft configuration. Most can be operated single pilot. Light jets are popular among families and executive travel groups, offering a climb from sea level to 45,000 feet in less than 30 minutes. The range of a light jet will vary depending on passenger and load size.
